Responding to Criticism, Comments and Negative Response

Many people, even saying "I am ready to accept constructive criticism", it still would rather be praised. Criticism, comments and negative responses to what we do, or for what we say, it still creates a feeling not good compared to speech support and praise. In fact, success is sometimes achieved after going through the various criticisms and comments (though mostly negative). Criticism and comments received, if faced with a cool head should be a medium for us to improve itself and correct deficiencies. How to keep a smile when we face the criticism and negative responses? Here`s some tips that I usually practice. Although not 100% made me become a cool, calm and confident, at least, we will more ready and comfort in the face of criticism.

1. Do not take it personally

If the criticism and negative responses taken as a personal attack , we will tend to respond emotionally. Always cultivate the criticism and the response was a 'blessing' attention on what we do. If a disaster can sometimes be considered a "hello world! from god to his creatures", suppose the criticism and suggestions for the attention of a person for us. In my experience, if we respond to criticism in a mild joke and if need be, the criticism is not to be feared. The following examples are too extreme, but let's say you've experienced it "I saw You wear that cloth yesterday? How often you wear that clothes" How you will respond it? Just say, "Thank you, to noticed ...". Simple right. We do not need to flame a war to the critics. After all, one can assess which need to be supported and which ones need to be despised. Do not be afraid and ashamed from what other people thought about you. Do not forget, people could analogize an event with them. What if they were in our position.

 

2. Relented, TO WIN

In the old office, I most often debated by Factory Manager. Factory Manager is a position second only to the Managing Director. Whatever (probably not all, but I feel 99.99%) proposed that I make, whatever my opinion, almost always he is criticized. Although I'm sure 110% that there would be no problem with my proposal, he almost always criticize. Finally I took a different approach. Instead I responded in the negative each comment to him, I would always ask his opinion to answer the criticism. So, if he said, "Sir, you create a system that may be executed, but this problem will arise, it is, and so on. It would be very vulnerable for the company if it happens", I will be replied, "The system that I created it based on my analysis, which I collated from data in the field. Maybe you any suggestions to complement these data for the system are made to anticipate problems such as a father to say". So, instead I was given a ball of fire, my fire ball back to its owner. This method was effective, because he feels appreciated (I say this with sincerity response). Positive effect, he is also willing to respect my opinion and we can be a good team, although not always agree on things.

 

3. COMMITMENT TO THE FINAL GOAL

Many good plans and good results can not be achieved because of the negative criticism and debate over common purpose. Often people argue about the way, holding on to an ego about which way to go. Assume that if other means are not taken-we-way, whatever the end result we will turn a blind eye. In fact, if the results and the final destination is reached, the methods is only steps to obtain it. If you have a plan proposal to improve the performance of your employees and your colleagues have a plan proposal with different ways but same purpose, try to avoid the debate about which method will be pursued. If it can be combined, results to be achieved to have a greater chance of success. There is nothing to gain if you only wins your ego.
